Leading with a Smile…

A Leader is the pivotal point of the organizational culture. The way the Leader handles and manages its different aspects defines its outcome and longevity.

A leader who is seen smiling often creates an aura of approachability, which in turn gives way to freedom of ideas to flow. In such organizations, where leaders are seen smiling often, team tend to be closely knit and supportive towards their subordinates.

Smiles are infectious. Leaders who smile project inner strength and help their team members develop strength just by smiling often. We are attracted to such people and to the positive energy they emit with their smile. It breaks the barriers of language and creates a bond between people. It is, undoubtedly, one of the best and quickest ways to connect with anyone from any culture.

Smiling is not really an aspect of organizational culture, but it creates a background on which a beautiful organizational culture can be painted. Teams follow and replicate their leader.

Stress at work is increasing and will remain so. Results will be demanded and delivered without fail. But in this entire mission of demands, delays and deliverables, teams should not deteriorate in any way – in their morale, in their health, in their bonding as a team, in their personal life or in their spirit.

When a leader looks stressed, the atmosphere around them also becomes tensed. Everyone becomes defensive and fearful in expressing their thoughts openly.

Leaders can transform this easily.

They should smile more often – even during times of increased work pressure and pressing deadlines. Smiles communicate that team is happy. And who doesn’t want to work where people are smiling and happy? It all starts with the Leader’s smile.

Leader’s smiles are worth millions, which can come if they smile.
